What type of apprenticeships do B&FC offer?

When should I apply for an apprenticeship?

We're always looking for new talent, and recruit all year round. What are you waiting for? If there are no vacancies listed, use this here to �Register your interest�.

Can I apply for more than one apprenticeship?

Yes, you can apply for as many apprenticeship vacancies as you want, as long as you meet our entry requirements. However, if successful at interview you will have to make the difficult decision of picking just one apprenticeship.

What qualifications do I need?

This all depends on the level of programme you're applying for. Please refer to the job description for more information.

What do you look for in your application process?

Make sure your application form or CV matches the job role you are applying for. Use the job description and person specification to help tailor your application and do not worry if you do not have lots of previous work experience, instead tell us about things that will make you stand out, like if you have completed some voluntary, charity work, or taken part in special projects. Our apprenticeship specialists will be on hand to help you complete your application and CV if you need any extra support.

Will I get any feedback?

Providing feedback is really important to us, so at any stage of the application or interview process feedback is available on request. Whether you are successful or unsuccessful we are more than happy to help by providing you with feedback.

What happens after my interview?

If you are successful at interview you will have to complete some checks before you can start, these include providing your identification documents, qualifications and also completing a DBS check. You will receive full support during this process, so don�t worry. Once completed you will receive a start date and your apprenticeship journey really begins.

What will my salary be?

Salaries vary dependent on the programme you apply for, check the job description or advert for the salary for a particular role. You�ll also get some amazing benefits too, check the benefits page for further info.

How long is an apprenticeship?

The length of our apprenticeship programmes differs dependant on the programme you apply for. Please check the job description for further details.

When will I get paid?

All College employees are paid on the last working day of each month.

Will I be doing a real role at the College?

Yes, from day one of your apprenticeship you will be expected to hit the ground running, but you will get lots of support to help you achieve highly in your role.

What will be expected of me?

We are looking for passion towards your chosen subject and for the College. We will provide training and knowledge that is specific to your role, but we cannot give you genuine interest and enthusiasm or a willingness to work hard. These need to come directly from you.

What support will I get on the apprenticeship?

At B&FC, you will be provided with all the support you need to help you succeed in your apprenticeship. You will have support from other apprentices, your line manager, a buddy mentor, a dedicated Skills Coach and other employees.

Can I stay at B&FC after I finish my apprenticeship?

There is no guarantee of a job on completion of an apprenticeship, however we will explore every opportunity to help you move into a permanent role. You will also be encouraged to apply for any other roles within the organisation which match the new skills and experience you will have developed through your apprenticeship.
