Fire Trainer
The Role:
The Lancashire Industrial Fire Training Centre (LIFT), part of the Fleetwood Nautical Campus at Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC), is looking for a motivated and experienced Fire Trainer to join our Offshore Team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver specialist fire training for Maritime, Oil & Gas, Industrial, and Nuclear sectors while shaping the next generation of industry-ready professionals.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As a Fire Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, practical, and theoretical fire training courses. Your key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging fire safety and firefighting training, including Breathing Apparatus (BA) training, across commercial and offshore programmes.
- Developing and maintaining course materials, ensuring they meet current industry standards and regulations.
- Conducting assessments and reviews, providing constructive feedback, and supporting learners to achieve outstanding outcomes.
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure effective learning pathways, high retention rates, and quality improvement.
- Supporting course development, evaluation, and quality assurance activities to continually enhance training provision.
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive fire service or equivalent experience in BA training, firefighting techniques, and classroom instruction.
- A teaching and assessor qualification (or willingness to achieve this within 24 months of appointment).
