The Role:
Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is currently seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our Digital and Creative Innovation department as a Specialist Practitioner in Fashion and Textiles. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the learning experience of our students in a dynamic and creative environment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As a key member of the Fashion and Textiles team, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality teaching and support across various programmes and levels of qualifications. Your duties will involve:

  • Facilitate and supervise student learning across various Fashion and Textiles programmes, providing instruction, guidance, and support.
  • Organise and maintain learning resources, equipment, and creative environments, ensuring a safe and engaging space for students.
  • Assess, monitor, and mark student work, contributing to their progress and personal development.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, quality improvement, and internal verification processes.

We are looking for candidates who bring not only a passion for teaching but also industry-relevant expertise. The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

  • Pattern Cutting and Tailoring
  • Good understanding of industrial machinery relevant to fashion, such as sewing machines and industrial irons
  • Familiarity with studio protocol and garment construction skills
  • Strong textiles and pattern cutting skills
